GoLive is an Android app that allows users to live stream themselves, watch other livestreams, chat with strangers, and even earn money as they grow in popularity on the platform. It’s the perfect app for the current social distancing protocols and leaves a lot of room for a new owner to transform into their own, successful platform.
Tell us a little about yourself, how did you get started with this app?
Our company, ACN Adontop IT Private Limited, is a software development company that was incorporated back in September of 2014. We had developed a similar application for one of our clients and they received really positive response from their users. This left us thinking that it might be an ideal application to develop for ourselves with the intention of listing on Flippa for a new owner to pick up and continue to grow.
We’ve developed and included outstanding source code and documentation so that the new owner will be in great hands when they purchase the app.
Is the business currently generating revenue or are you selling this based on future potential?
This app has only been live for about 9 months and is already generating revenue north of $400 each month with a net profit somewhere between $350 and $400 as the majority of the costs are merely hosting fees. Through advertising, we’re drawing in a really solid profit and there is plenty of potential to stretch this even further.
How have you marketed the app? Where are the majority of your customers coming from?
The majority of our customers are coming from either India or the United States, but there is obviously potential to attract users from all across the globe. We did a bit of marketing for the app upon launch and have seen a good ROI, with many users downloading the free app to give it a try.
This is a young business, why are you selling now?
Why not sell a great product?! We’d love to provide an entrepreneurial person with the opportunity to take advantage of what we’ve built as we are more developers than operations specialists.
What would a new owner need to know in order to continue operating the business in its current form?
Once a user purchases this application from us, they would need a GoDaddy server, Firebase, and Amazon EC2 in order to run it as it currently stands. The fees for this servers scale dependent on usage.
No application development experience is necessary to continue running GoLive as it is and we will gladly help the user to set everything up on their servers.
Can you list a few opportunities for a new owner to grow the business?
The new owner can grow the business by adding additional features to the application such as advertisements or in-app purchase products like paid video calling, private broadcast, more gifts etc. It surely has a scope of improvement for people who think out of the box.
