This company is run by a successful personal trainer and tailors nutrition plans for people looking to improve their quality of life. It can be run from anywhere in the world and is ideal for any trainers or nutrition professionals looking to capitalize on the large, and still growing, online fitness niche.
Tell us a little about yourself, how did you start with MoveMint Nutrition?
I was an in-person trainer since I was 17 and finally realized the potential of online nutrition. Creating MoveMint Nutrition allowed me to work with far more individuals than I ever could through in-person appointments as there are only so many hours in the day. It’s really fantastic being able to work with a myriad of individuals, helping them reach their fitness goals.
What exactly is your service? What do you provide to your clients and how can this be continued by a new owner?
Each client gets their nutrient macros each week based on their own goals via a shared google spreadsheet. I make changes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for the first 2 hours of the day and that’s it. The rest of my time is devoted to responding to questions.
It doesn’t look like your site has gotten much traffic recently, has the business been on hiatus or are people using your services through a different means than the website? A mobile app perhaps?
Business is the same as usual, but while my clients used to schedule their service via the website, that has now moved primarily to Instagram, which is also where the majority of my clients discover my platform.
What sort of marketing have you done to garner users? What has worked? What hasn’t?
The only marketing that I’ve really done is organic posting on Instagram. My clients have all found our platform via word of mouth as, when a product works, it can really sell itself.
Ads are something i’ve been wanting to learn, but I don’t have a marketing or digital background, so my main focus has been creating a top quality product that drives traffic through results.
This is a young business, why are you selling now?
I have other ventures that I’d like to focus on and could use the up front capital to focus on those.
What does someone need to do or know to continue operating the business in its current Form?
Well, first off I would be willing to stay on for some time to help the transition. I’m happy to show the new owner the ropes, after all, I am a trainer by nature.
The basic needs of a new owner would be an understanding of Google Drive and the ability to maintain good communication with clients as that is critical for retention. While an understanding of macronutrients and physical fitness is important, it can be learned by a dedicated owner.
Can you list a few opportunities to Grow for a prospective buyer?
Run ads. I’ve only spent $200 on ads in the past and had no idea what I was doing. If someone came in with a marketing background, specifically for running targeted ads on Facebook/Instagram, they could make company grow much faster. I grew it very quickly without any ad spend, imagine what it would do with some intelligent marketing.
